The "video=SF5" parameter sets the video to 640x480x256, the resolution that I used for generating an .FLC animation. The standard .FLI animation (320x200x256) parameter would be "video=F3." I have found that the higher resolution is necessary for decent fractal animations, however. To make the animation, first copy the following lines into a batch file: fractint batch=yes sound=no video=SF5 maxiter=500 center-mag=-0.5/0.00000016/0.666666738/1/0/0 fractint batch=yes sound=no video=SF5 maxiter=500 center-mag=-0.50330722281/0.07325570223/0.74801240091/1/-1.875/0 fractint batch=yes sound=no video=SF5 maxiter=500 center-mag=-0.50625478818/0.1385447714/0.83928373808/1/-3.75/0 fractint batch=yes sound=no video=SF5 maxiter=500 center-mag=-0.50888180851/0.19673371414/0.94169186519/1/-5.625/0 fractint batch=yes sound=no video=SF5 maxiter=500 center-mag=-0.51122314279/0.2485946627/1.05659567645/1/-7.5/0 fractint batch=yes sound=no video=SF5 maxiter=500 center-mag=-0.51330985911/0.29481578064/1.18551987625/1/-9.375/0 fractint batch=yes sound=no video=SF5 maxiter=500 center-mag=-0.51516964694/0.33601039438/1.33017521112/1/-11.25/0 fractint batch=yes sound=no video=SF5 maxiter=500 center-mag=-0.51682718456/0.37272513163/1.49248117026/1/-13.125/0 fractint batch=yes sound=no video=SF5 maxiter=500 center-mag=-0.51830446647/0.40544717487/1.67459145605/1/-15/0 fractint batch=yes sound=no video=SF5 maxiter=500 center-mag=-0.51962109534/0.43461072589/1.87892256234/1/-16.875/0 fractint batch=yes sound=no video=SF5 maxiter=500 center-mag=-0.52079454202/0.46060276748/2.1081858399/1/-18.75/0 fractint batch=yes sound=no video=SF5 maxiter=500 center-mag=-0.52184037745/0.48376819837/2.36542347441/1/-20.625/0 fractint batch=yes sound=no video=SF5 maxiter=500 center-mag=-0.52277247923/0.50441440989/2.65404885443/1/-22.5/0 fractint batch=yes sound=no video=SF5 maxiter=500 center-mag=-0.5236032158/0.52281536483/2.97789186498/1/-24.375/0 fractint batch=yes sound=no video=SF5 maxiter=500 center-mag=-0.52434361053/0.53921523279/3.34124970786/1/-26.25/0 fractint batch=yes sound=no video=SF5 maxiter=500 center-mag=-0.52500348801/0.55383163014/3.74894392291/1/-28.125/0 fractint batch=yes sound=no video=SF5 maxiter=500 center-mag=-0.52559160443/0.56685850768/4.20638436692/1/-30/0 fractint batch=yes sound=no video=SF5 maxiter=500 center-mag=-0.52611576372/0.57846872422/4.71964099919/1/-31.875/0 fractint batch=yes sound=no video=SF5 maxiter=500 center-mag=-0.52658292116/0.58881634036/5.29552442626/1/-33.75/0 fractint batch=yes sound=no video=SF5 maxiter=500 center-mag=-0.52699927567/0.59803866273/5.94167627452/1/-35.625/0 fractint batch=yes sound=no video=SF5 maxiter=500 center-mag=-0.527370352/0.606258066/6.66667059/1/-37.5/0 Next, delete or rename any FRACTxxx.GIF files in the fractint directory. Run the batch file and let fractint generate all of the frames. You will probably want something other than the default color map, so change the color map of FRACT001.GIF and save it with the same name. Alternatively, you could add an appropriate command line parameter to the first line of the batch file before you run it. If you use DTA to make animation files, type dta /o[animation file name] /ra /nm fract*.gif The /nm parameter uses the color map of the first file, which saves time and allows a change in the map of the first frame to affect the entire animation. The .FLI or .FLC extension will automatically be attached. - Andrew Dalton - asdalton@umich.edu -- --- "Faith, n.
