I then make FLC files, which the very nifty and free DISPLAY v1.87 program for DOS can both generate and play automatically, from a set of GIFs. These animations are kind of interesting in their own right, but at 6 MB are a bit large to post anywhere :-). Here a few zooms into an interesting frame of one such FLC, in the form of a PAR file. There is a figure here which looks rather like a particular kind of small dog with a squarish muzzle and a little goatee, maybe you know the kind I'm thinking of. Although, this one is of the unicorn variety and seems to have a bit of dragon blood mixed in, so maybe I'm just getting carried away by imagination. Well, I think it looks kind of neat anyway. -John Beale -----parameter file for Fractint follows------------------------------ quat3 { ; wide variety of curious shapes, 'stretched' regions ; March 1995 by John Beale reset=1720 type=quatjul corners=0.6219958/1.0093238/0.0067763442/0.29727235 params=-0.741302/0.00306/0.115555/0.052555\ 9999998 float=y periodicity=0 colors=000idX<2>nhcpjfoch<4>e2w<29>2sw0uv1uv<40>egngfmgem<24>bHWbHWbHX<4\ 2>W5wV4xV3zqF2<44>tYluZnuZn<34>hRMgQLgQLgPL<10>bKO } terrier1 { ; dogs discovered leaping through a julia quaternion reset=1720 type=quatjul corners=0.869580931/0.788242051/0.17847072/0.28692256/0.788242051/0.2869\ 2256 params=-0.741302/0.00306/0.115555/0.052556 float=y periodicity=0 colors=000ln`<63>7Qcln`<9>kiWkhWln`khV<52>dH6dG6cF5bF5<28>AC3AC3AC4<44>Q\ RaRSbRSbRSb<40>eCZ } terrier2 { ; close up of a figure which looks like a poodle, kind of reset=1720 type=quatjul corners=0.853683472/0.822123986/0.195678185/0.237757499/0.822123986/0.23\ 7757499 params=-0.741302/0.00306/0.115555/0.052556 float=y periodicity=0 colors=000O57<43>jAEk5B<32>J21I10J31<18>hfXjiZjiZ<102>000455<4>200200300\ <41>O57 }
