PHC's were developed for such high resolution screens as they allow one to look at far more than Fractint's 256 colors with no apparent dithering. Below 1280x1024, the dithering becomes quite apparent. (Unlike normal high color, PHC's can also be color-cycled and recolored using Fractint's palette editor.) Sylvie Gallet has written a fine tutorial on writing PHC formulas which is available at Fractint's Spanky site. Although this mailing list doesn't specialize in just Fractint and since so many here seem to be unfamiliar with PHCs and since I don't have a website for displaying them (they would be too large for normal downloading), I will give you ten good examples (all using the same formula) that you can re-create. (Thousands of PHC par entries using hundreds of PHC formulas uploaded by tens of artists are available on Compuserve's Graphdev Forum, lib 4.) Note: These pars must be generated on Fractint 19.5 or later and should be generated at the highest screen resolution you have for best effect.
